Bout Recap: Vixens vs. Heartland Hellcats (02/28/15)
On Saturday, Feb. 28th, the Heartland Hellcats from North Platte came to town for our first home game of the season.
New skater Maestra Maul made her debut, and lots of friends, family, and non-rostered skaters helped out around the track as Non-Skating Officials, including our returning volunteers the Grand Island Central Community College SVA (Student Veterans of America).
The Swine Arena was packed with a sold out crowd, and thanks to participants of our halftime “Feed the Fox” toss, we raised $295 for the Grand Island Crisic Center, Inc.
Following the game, the teams met up for dinner at Dickies BBQ Pit, and awarded Blocker and Jammer MVP awards. Congratulations to those skaters for a bout well played!

We also had some great coverage from NTV, and take a look at the Independent’s feature on Maestra Maul leading up to the game here.
Next up, the Vixens will play the Heartland Hellcats at their home, the DN Event Center in North Platte on March 28.
